The 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil qualification rounds have got underway and more are due to be played in 2012 where the world’s national teams will battle it out to gain entry to the most prestigious football competition on the planet, Brazil 2014.

The qualification groups are split up in to the following continents; Africa, Asia, Europe, North & Central America / Caribbean, Oceania and South America.
The ultimate goal of all teams is to play at the finals in Brazil in 2014 but the road to the eventual final in Rio de Janeiro is a long way and there are many matches to be played.

The World Cup 2014 qualifiers will be played on the following basis to gain entry to the Brazil finals;

From Africa all 52 member associations will battle it out in the qualifiers for just five available places at the 2014 FIFA World Cup finals in Brazil. November 2011 Results

From Asia there are a total of just 4.5 spots to be battled out between the 43 Asian teams. 2011 Asia Qualifier Results

Europe qualifiers will comprise of a total of nine groups and the games will commence from the beginning of September 2012 resulting eventually in 13 teams qualifying for the World Cup finals in Brazil 2014.

The group comprising of North America, Central America and the Caribbean has 3.5 places up for grabs to be battled out by a total of 35 teams. Qualifier Results

In Oceania there are just eleven teams that will compete for a chance of a play-off for the place in Brazil 2014 Results of Oceania 2011 Qualifiers


South America
comprises of ten member associations but as hosts Brazil automatically go through so the remaining nine associations will compete for 4.5 spots South America Qualifiers

(where the is a ‘half’ spot indicated it means that the teams will play-off with other continents for the a place in the finals)
