Capital One Cup Betting
BetVictor are offering odds on which team will score the most number of goals in Tuesday’s Capital One Cup ties and make Chelsea 7/2 favourites.
The Blues host Wolves at Stamford Bridge and are marginally preferred in this market to Manchester City, who are 4/1 ahead of Aston Villa’s visit to Etihad Stadium.
Wolves boss Stale Solbakken has admitted he will make a number of changes for the Championship side’s trip to London as it comes in the middle of a busy spell of seven games in three weeks.
“Many of them will have a well-deserved break but, having said that, I think the team I’m putting out can do exactly the same as the team I could have put out – they are hungry and waiting for their chance,” Solbakken said.
“They are also fresh and I think that will be a big difference. If you meet Chelsea with many players who have played three games in six days they will struggle to cope with the fitness level that is demanded in a game like that.
“I have complete faith that the players who haven’t played so much so far will do a good job, perhaps a better job.”
Manchester City have such strength in depth that they are hot favourites to see off Villa, but defender Joe Bennett insists Paul Lambert’s side are determined to bounce back from a disappointing Premier League defeat at Southampton.
“It’s good to get a game so quickly to put things right,” said the 22-year-old. “We want to learn from what’s happened and move on quickly.
“You’re going to have ups and downs in football, that’s part of the game. We’re disappointed now but we plan to move on quickly. We’re going to the Etihad and not many people are expecting us to win. That can be a good thing.
“That can help, when you don’t have pressure on you. Hopefully we can go there and do a really good job. They have a big, strong squad and I think whoever plays will be of high quality. We have to match them and show the travelling fans we can get a result.”
The two fixtures mentioned above are 5/1 joint-favourites in the market on which match will produced most goals, with Swindon versus Burnley and Leeds against Everton next best at 8/1.
