Crystal Palace odds to stay up next season
Crystal Palace are 11/8 with BetVictor to stay up next season after booking their place in the Premier League by edging out Watford in the Championship play-off final.
Both teams failed to score in 90 minutes at Wembley but then Manchester United-bound Wilfried Zaha won a penalty for the Eagles and veteran striker Kevin Phillips made no mistake with the spot-kick.
“I’m speechless,” said Zaha after helping his boyhood club return to the top flight. “I’m exhausted and speechless and I don’t even know what to say. It’s my dream come true and this is all I wanted.
“To leave Palace now, knowing they’re in the Premier League, that’s all I wanted. I told myself I’d give all I can, I’ve given it 200 per cent and I’ve wanted it for so long. I just wanted to help out the team and I’m happy we actually made it.
“Walking into the stadium with so many people was amazing and being able to play at such a great ground left me speechless. That’s all I wanted.”
Palace manager Ian Holloway even hinted he will try and take Zaha back to Selhurst Park on loan if new United boss David Moyes agreed that such a move would help the England Under-21 winger to continue his development.
“I think he’d be silly to give me him back,” Holloway said. “Now we’re up it might be realistic, but who knows? He will know the task he’s got. Mine will be staying up, his will be winning every week. Good luck to him and good luck to us.”
Swansea and West Ham have managed to survive in the Premier League after going up through the play-offs but the Eagles are 8/15 to fall straight back down, while punters can get 10/11 on Palace getting over or under 30.5 points and they are 10/1 for a top-10 finish.
