Silva Relishes New Season
Manchester City midfielder David Silva insists he is still hungry for success after helping Spain to Euro 2012 glory and the Blues are Evens with BetVictor to retain the Premier League title.
City edged out neighbours United on goal difference last term after coming from behind to beat QPR 3-2 in extra-time on the closing day of the campaign.
This time they can be backed at 10/1 to finish at least 10 points clear at the top of the table, while punters can also bet on how many trophies will end up at Eastlands.
Roberto Mancini’s expensively-assembled side are 8/1 to do the league and FA Cup double, 33/1 to also lift the Champions League trophy and emulate United’s 1999 Treble and 150/1 to pull off a historic four-timer with further success in the newly-named Capital One Cup.
“I want to have my vacation because it has been a long, hard season for me,” said Silva. “But once I go back to City, I know I will be fully refreshed because I want to win more trophies with them.
“The owners of the club have spent a lot of money bringing good players to the club. We have already started to win titles, including the Premier League. Now I hope to show we have the quality to do something in the Champions League.”
City are rated 6/1 third favourites with BetVictor to prevail in Europe’s elite club competition, behind 7/2 favourites Barcelona and Real Madrid on 4/1.
